A girls rain coat will keep kids or a toddler dry, with plenty of jacket styles to shop for and enjoy.

A little girl’s rain coat is a necessary item for your daughter. Rainy days bring wet heads and bodies shivering in the cold. Ever since Charles Macintosh devised a method to fuse rubber with cloth, people have been using rain coats to stay dry in inclement weather. But originally, the coats were not very stylish and they were unisex.

Today you have many options for your girls rain coats. You can buy rain coats in all imaginable styles and colors. Many are quite inexpensive. In fact in many households, the family members each own multiple rain coats.

Kidorable carries a charming girls rain coat inspired by Madonna’s children’s book, English Roses. It’s a two tone pink coat in PVC, lined in polyester. The color, pockets and placket features adorable trompe l’oeil. There is also the whimsical ladybug or butterfly slicker, with one pocket featuring an antenna sprouting up. There is a beautiful Lotus Coat. The most unusual coat from this company is the girls Mermaid Coat. Half of the coat is pink and the other half is cream. A beautiful lotus flower is embossed on the bottom of both sides of this beautiful jacket. The bottom half of the coat is a purple fin with scales. The top half is turquoise with decorative accents on the sleeves. There is a charming umbrella to match. If your daughter is a bit individualistic, this may be the coat for her.

The infamous rain coat manufacturer, London Fog, has a number of cute girls rain coats. The girly offerings feature plenty of pink and flowers.

Children’s clothing retailer, Anna Bean, offers a line of delightful girl’s rain coats. You may choose from a cute pink stripe, or a charming sleek, shiny Peter Pan collared coat in fushcia, white or purple. There is also a blue, pink or brown floral hooded rain coat. My favorite is the Berry Sweet rain coat, which features two strawberries for pockets and a strawberry seed motif covering the slicker.

You can count on Osh Kosh to manufacture delightful girls rain coats. From the pink daisy printed slicker to the yellow rain coat dotted with strawberries, you’re sure to find something to your little girl’s liking.

Yellow Turtle clothing and ski wear company carries a nice line of girls rain coats. They have a quirky Stephen Joseph Peace coat with peace signs and flowers peppering its fabric. They also have a sweet Hartstrings pink slicker with white polka dots.

The Disney Outlet store offers the very royal Princess coat, which features Cinderella, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and Sleeping Beauty. It’s the perfect coat for your little princess to stay dry in.

If you’re looking for something even more affordable, practical girls rain coat, check out Target. They carry a very functional pink striped jacket with flowers adorning its body. Or if you prefer, there is a navy rain coat with brightly colored tulips.

All of these girls rain coats are available online. Check websites for availability and shipping costs.

Marc Jacobs Wellies bring Wellington rain boots to a new level, with awesome designs and colors.

Marc Jacobs Wellies are what happens when high fashion meets sensible standby. When Marc Jacobs jumped into the retro wellie movement, the response from consumers was a resounding “Yes!” Designer labels have been dipping their hands into the wellie rage that’s gripping shoppers across the globe and Marc Jacobs is the latest label to do so.

Marc Jacobs brings an elegance to wellies like no other. Quilted wellies with a patent leather look in white and black with a two-inch stack heels are flying off shelves. Marc by Marc Jacobs hit the shelves during the summer and there was no looking back. Marc Jacobs wellies are particularly popular in New York and London, two epicenters of chic.

Many feel this is just the latest installment in our current fashion nostalgia. Some fashion experts feel Marc Jacobs wellies are just yet another example—in a long line of many—of the pieces we’re resurrecting in an effort to return to a more solid, comfortable, secure time. The current unsteady economic outlook is driving fashion hounds to enjoy a simpler, safer time—at least clothes-wise.

Men are sporting Marc Jacobs wellies as well as women. Rock star idols and fashion designers alike are tromping around them.

The thing about wellies is that some people had been shying away from them because of their long history of simplicity and practicality. It just didn’t seem like fashion to them. With hot, sought after designers, such as Marc Jacobs jumping onboard the wellie express, it’s now a trend many will find hard to ignore.

Marc Jacobs wellies are rubber and fall just below the knee, much like the traditional wellies we’ve seen. What sets them apart is the whimsy each pair evokes. Many of them are plastered in patterns and colors that seem to be poking fun at the elements and inclement weather. You can find lace up wellies with pom poms. The quirky striped laces complete the flair.

Besides the fashion boost you get from Marc Jacobs wellies, they keep your feet—and your pant legs!—from getting wet in the rain and slush. As you’re out dodging puddles and running about town doing errands and taking care of things, you’ll want to avoid getting wet, cold, and muddy. Marc Jacobs wellies are just the trick. Their sensible soles will keep you upright and their fanciful colors and designs will warm your insides.

Try a pair of plum Marc Jacobs wellies with a nifty trompe l’oeil embellishment. Or perhaps you’d prefer a turquoise pair with trompe l’oeil. Or how about Italian made graffiti print pink wellies? How about a bold burgundy, lace-up wellie with the logo embossed all about the calf section? There are too cute green Marc Jacobs wellies with lime green trim. There is a cool metallic copper pair trimmed in faux fur.

There’s even a remarkably affordable $28 pair of shiny black wellies with a bold colored sole from Marc Jacobs. The soles come in pink, yellow, orange, blue, and green. Twenty-eight dollar Marc Jacobs boots? Outstanding!

Ladies Wellingtons are a classic boot style, with many womens Wellies styles and colors sold.

Ladies Wellingtons are the must have item for rainy weather. These practical boots were first crafted for the first Duke of Wellington, who made a request of his shoemaker to transform the popular boot of the day into something more form fitting. The shoemaker also altered the height of the heel. These new boots were more suitable for functional, everyday wear. The boots were referred to as Wellingtons after their wearer; that name has endured.

Originally, the boots were made of soft leather, but with the advancement of vulcanized rubber the boots made use of this new technology as well. This enabled the boots to keep everyone’s feet clean and dry, which was a huge relief to anyone possessing a pair of Wellingtons. It was an actually an American named Henry Lee Norris who begin producing rubber Wellies. He opted to set up his Wellington boot manufacturing operation in Scotland due to his belief that his customer base would be wider there.

He believed the rainy climate would have men, ladies, and children clamoring for Wellingtons. Designed for the rainy climate of the U.K. Wellingtons, these boots have protecting people’s feet the world over. Soldiers in both World Wars and in both sides of the Civil War in the United States donned these boots for protection. These boots are light, comfortable, and keep your feet dry regardless of the outdoor conditions.

You can walk in your ladies Wellingtons all day and not feel discomfort due to their soft rubber construction. Ladies Wellingtons allow you the sense of style and comfort to sail throw your day’s errands and tasks while still looking smart and chic. Need to wash the car? No problem.

Do you have a pallet of plants you need to plant today? It’s okay. You can still look fashionable and attractive. Wellingtons come in a wide array of colors and styles to suit your every task and chore. Gone are the days that Wellies are just for farm chores. A pair of ladies Wellingtons stored in your trunk will prevent cold feet if you’re ever stranded during inclement weather. The many uses of these boots are innumerable.

You can buy Wellingtons lined with cotton and nylon, neoprene, or even leather. You can buy boots of all colors and patterns to go with nearly any attire or occasion. There are even Wellies with heels! You can feel good knowing that your ladies Wellingtons are a bit of a British icon that got a little facelift to bring them into the current fashion landscape. Reasonably priced, reliable and sturdy construction make ladies Wellingtons a favorite of many, from fashion model to the Queen of England herself, who’s frequently seen in an olive green pair.

Even Paddington Bear carries on his adventures in Wellingtons. Lady Diana started a fashion storm when she wore her ladies Wellingtons in 1980. Coco Chanel even sold ladies Wellingtons in 1994 with two interlocking Cs and Gucci would not be left out. They marketed their version in 1995.

We’re entering a new decade, and lo and behold, Hunter rain boots still remain a fixture in the fashion world. Some may argue that these shoes are more popular than ever before.

Whatever it is that you’re looking for, the variety of boots offered by the Hunter company should offer something that appeals to you. Let’s take a look at a few of the boots that I believe will be some of the hottest for the year 2010.

The Hunter original gloss boot for women is a classic one, but glossy is in this year. The look and feel takes on that of the original boot, but the glossy finish gives it a bit of extra pizazz that other ones may lack. This can be purchased from zappos.com for about $115.

If you don’t like your boots long, many women are opting for the shorter version of this boot. No need to go knee high, as this one comes in at roughly more than half the length of the original. Change up the look of your rain boots by considering this one.

Coming in at the same price is the Festival boot. Do you like red footwear? Then you might really like these. With a silver buckle on the side that adds to the novelty of these, you’ll have some of the most stylish rain boots around. These are selling for $114.95 at shoebuy.com.

Lastly, the Hunter Wellies are just as popular as they’ve ever been. There are many varieties of this shoe, ranging from jet black to camouflage colors and many more. Go with something that suits your style and know that you have a virtually timeless boot on your feet.

I’ll keep you all updated with more Hunter rain boots for 2010 as the company releases new additions to its product line. Until then, enjoy what’s out there because it’s great!

Waterproof boots are usually made from rubber or polyvinyl chloride (commonly referred to as PV). Waterproof boots can be made from leather. They’ll cover the entire foot and usually all or at least part of the leg. They can extend as far as the hip. In this case they are called waders.

If a boot is truly waterproof, it can protect the foot/leg from water, snow, and mud. If made from vulcanized rubber, they can also protect against hazardous materials such as chemical spills. They can also conform to high standards of hygiene and may be appropriate to wear in food processing plants, clean rooms for technology manufacturers, and operating rooms. The most popular waterproof boots are Hunter Wellington boots. Ugg Australia makes very popular cold weather waterproof boots.

Waterproof boots are usually designed for walking through the elements, but may not protect against extreme cold temperatures. They will keep the foot dry, but not necessarily warm. Some are lined or you can buy liners for them to add warmth.

Simple waterproof rain boots are called gumboots, but most of these boots sold in stores are not actually waterproof, but water resistant. If you lingered in a puddle, you’d begin to feel the wetness seeping in. Make sure the boot you are buying says “waterproof” and not “water-resistant”.

Specialty waterproof boots have been designed and marketed for different types of sports performed in wet conditions like skiing, snowboarding, fishing, and ice-skating.

Waterproof overshoes, known as galoshes or rubbers, are rubber boots that are worn over a shoe to protect it from the elements. You can keep your shoes on and just wear the galoshes over them. When you get to where you are going, you take off the galoshes and have your shoes underneath. Perfect for dressy occasions. The most popular galoshes, are NEOS Overshoes.

There is a very wide range of waterproof boots and just as wide a range in price. There are women’s waterproof boots, waterproof work boots, toddler rain boots, waterproof motorcycle boots, and many others. True waterproof shoes can range in price from $35 to upwards of $400.

If you buy a pair of non-rubber waterproof boots, you should take care to use a waterproofing product on the boot before wearing and each time you clean your boot. You can also waterproof your own boots. A variety of products are available, including water-based, wax, silicone, and oils.

The kind you use depends on the material your boot is made of: leather, fabric, synthetics, or a combination. Keep in mind that this type of waterproofing is meant to protect the material of the shoe from being ruined in wet conditions, not to keep your foot dry.

Buy waterproof boots from places like Lord and Taylor, Nordstrom, Uggs, and many others.

Hunter Wellington boots have been around since 1817. Wellie boots were designed when men stopped wearing knickers (knee pants), in favor of full-length pants. A shoe that protected the pant leg from the elements needed to be invented and the Wellingtons were designed for this purpose.

Arthur Wellsley, the first Duke of Wellington and a war hero, commissioned his shoemaker to modify a boot that had been worn with knickers. They were originally made out of calfskin. They were nicknamed Wellington boots and the name stuck.

The Hunter Wellington boots remained the most popular men’s footwear until the 1840s. In America in the 1850s shoes were being made with rubber and in 1856 an American opened a rubber company in Scotland to manufacture Wellingtons made with rubber. During World War I the company, the North British Rubber Company, was commissioned by the British to make the boots for the Royal Army.

The company again made boots, among other things, for the Army during World War II. By the end of the war, the boots had become popular not only with men, but with women and children as well.

In 1958 two new boots were introduced with the Hunter name, but sales were very slow. The company underwent several buyouts and changes and since 2006 has been under the name Hunter Boot Limited.

The Hunter Wellington boot started out as a fashionable answer to a new trend, became solely practical when it was starting to be made with rubber, and has come full circle, widely known as a practical, stylish boot worn by yuppies and toddlers alike.

Wellington Boots are durable, comfortable and waterproof. They are made for rain and not for extreme cold temperatures, but if you buy the liner that Hunter sells separately, they will keep your feet both warm and dry.

Due to the nylon lining of the Wellie boot, moisture is wicked away, saving your feet from getting overheated and sweaty. The outsoles are made from natural rubber, providing traction and endurance. Insoles are lightly cushioned to provide comfort. No other boot beats a Hunter rain boot for comfort and durability.

You can buy Hunter Wellington rubber boots locally and online. If you’re looking to shop for them on the web, check out Saks, Amazon, zappos, and many of the other popular clothing and shoe retailers.

Keep your child’s feet dry with a great selection of children’s rain boots. Children’s rain boots feature fun characters your child will adore. They come in all the colors of the rainbow, and in rainbow design, as well! Older children may be reluctant to go out in the rain. Not with these rain boots! Any child would be excited to pull these children’s rain boots on and face the world, rainy or not.

Most children’s rain boots are made from rubber or PVC ensuring a waterproof seal, keeping feet nice and dry. They are usually not meant for cold temperatures but can be worn with thick socks to keep some of the cold out, or you can purchase liners for extra warmth. The days of wearing plastic bags inside a rain boot, or simply kids yellow rain boots, are over. If the rain boot is truly waterproof, there will be no water seeping in at all, no matter how long your child lingers in a puddle.

Keep in mind that some inexpensive brands of children’s rain boots may not be waterproof. They may be water-resistant and this might be enough for getting in and out of the car to and from school or activities, but should not be worn to jump in puddles. You risk wet feet but also damage to the boot itself.

You can waterproof your child’s boots using a waterproofing a product. This is usually used for a leather boot to protect the boot itself, not the feet from getting wet. The child should still avoid jumping in puddles or even, as much as possible, avoid wearing the boot in the rain.

Children’s rain boots range in price, as they range in style and quality of waterproofing. You can get inexpensive boot stores like Target kids rain boots or Walmart, but, again, you may be risking the quality of the waterproofing. Since children’s feet grow so quickly and in all likelihood you will have to buy a new pair next year, this may be a fine option. Just caution your child not to spend too long jumping in puddles. If you have a puddle-lover on your hands or if you live in a very rainy climate, you may want to invest in a better pair of boots.

Kamik kids rain boots are good, decent priced waterproof rain boots. You can get great quality Hunter Wellingtons as well.

Children’s rain boots range in price from $13 to $70. Other sites to get your child rain boots from include Sierra Trading Post, Kidorable, Kohls, J. Crew, ShoeBuy, Target, and more. If you’re looking for a rain boots for kids clearance sale, your best bet is to find one right after the holiday shopping season. It’s not uncommon to see many retailers offering a kids rain boots sale during this time of the year.
